College Football - Week 7 Moneyline Plays

As each week goes on the true heavyweights in the college football scene stand out more and more. The Alabama Crimson Tide is the clear national championship favorite but there are plenty of teams jockeying for position behind them. Every win is critical this time of year and the top teams are of course going to be favored.

However, when it comes to betting, it’s not always smart to go with the favorites. Moneyline plays greatly favor the underdogs, as unlikely victories pay off extremely well. The key to wagers on the moneyline is knowing which upsets to pick while also knowing which favorites should be able to come through with the win.

Here are some of the best bets when it comes to moneyline plays in Week 7 of the college football season.

Odds Analysis

The Arizona Wildcats got off to a slow start this season but have looked better recently. They kept it close against USC two weeks ago and knocked off a talented California team last time out. Arizona is a 13.5-point underdog against Utah, which equates to +410 moneyline odds. The Wildcats are an intriguing pick as they could keep it close or possibly even pull the upset if quarterback Khalil Tate has a big game.

The South Carolina Gamecocks are at home in Week 7 against a talented but sometimes inconsistent Texas A&M Aggies squad. South Carolina is better than it is being given credit for. The Gamecocks are the home underdog and take advantage of that line by jumping on South Carolina at +115 on the moneyline to come away with the upset win.

The Northwestern Wildcats are matching up against the Nebraska Cornhuskers this week. Nebraska has had all sorts of trouble throughout the season and is only a 4-point underdog in this one. Northwestern has a good chance to win this game, and thus it is the correct call on the moneyline at -185.

Central Florida is hitting the road to face off against Memphis in a crucial conference clash. These two teams are both impressive and it should be a good matchup. Memphis rightfully the underdog but the moneyline odds of +170 are too good to pass up. The Tigers have an uphill battle but they have what it takes to win this game, which would pay off nicely.

The California Golden Bears are at home this week against the UCLA Bruins. UCLA may have played better last week against Washington but it is still one of the worst teams in the Pac-12. A win on the road against Cal is very unlikely. Roll with the Bears at -270 on the moneyline to win this contest in front of their fans.

The Texas Longhorns are coming off an emotional victory over Oklahoma and has turned some heads around the country. Texas could be staring at a letdown game against the Baylor Bears. Is Texas likely to lose? No. But there is enough of a chance that taking Baylor at +431 odds is worth the gamble.

Free NCAA Football ATS Picks

These are all worthy picks on the moneyline but there is one wager that stands out among all of the others in Week 7 of the college football slate. The Wisconsin Badgers are going on the road this week to face off against the Michigan Wolverines. Even though Michigan has been good this season, it has not been dominant. While Wisconsin has a tough test on the road, the talent gulf between these teams is not nearly as wide as the spread and odds would indicate. Take the Badgers at +284 to pull off the upset in NCAA football moneyline wagering.
