College Football Week 11 - Power 5 Conference Best Bets
It’s beginning to look as though the battles for conference supremacy are going to go right down to the wire. The SEC took care of itself last weekend, with Alabama and Georgia clinching their respective divisions to set up a date in Atlanta for the SEC Conference Championship Game.
The other Power 5 conferences are still there for the taking, though, so we are going to get a lot of games this weekend that are Important in terms of the conference and playoff standings. Let’s take a closer look at the best games in each of the Power 5 conferences with all picks and predictions included sponsored by YouWager.eu.
Virginia Tech Hokies (+3 -115) at Pittsburgh Panthers (-3 -105)
You might ordinarily look at a game between two non-ranked teams as being low on the totem pole at this stage of the season, but that is not the case with this one. The Clemson Tigers have the Atlantic Division all but sewn up, but the race to win the Coastal still rages on. The Panthers could put themselves in the driver seat with a win here, essentially leaving the Virginia Cavaliers as the only team that could catch them. A date with Clemson in the ACC Conference Championship Game beckons, and I think Pitt takes another step towards that here.
Oklahoma State Cowboys (+21 -110) at Oklahoma Sooners (-21 -110)
An in-state battle is always fun to watch, but it takes on a higher level of importance when one of the teams involved still has a shot at a playoff spot. The Sooners need to win out and get a little help along the way, but they are still very much in the playoff conversation. The Cowboys will be looking to put a dent in those dreams, just as they did to Texas a couple of weeks ago. I have the Sooners winning this one in a shootout.

Ohio State Buckeyes (-3½ -110) at Michigan State Spartans (+3½ -110)
The Buckeyes season has gone south in the last couple of weeks, losing to Purdue and struggling to get past a weak Nebraska team. Despite those setbacks, they still have a shot at winning the East Division and getting into the Conference Championship Game. I think they can take a step towards that with a win over the Spartans this weekend, but they cannot be looking head to the Michigan game that is still to come.
Washington State Cougars (-6 -110) at Colorado Buffaloes (+6 -110)
The Cougars are still in the playoff hunt, but it’s probably more than fair to suggest that they need a little help if they are to get there. It all begins with helping yourself, though, and while Washington State are on the road this weekend, they are still heading into a very winnable game. The Colorado Buffaloes are in the midst of a brutal losing skid and look like a team totally devoid of confidence. I like the Cougars to go in and win, but I think it might be a close one.
Auburn Tigers (+14 -110) at Georgia Bulldogs (-14 -110)
As we mentioned earlier, the races in the SEC are over, but there is still the business of the playoffs to attend to. The Bulldogs are currently sitting in the #5 spot, but they are probably in control of their own destiny in regards landing in the top 4. To get there, they need to win out, which includes beating Alabama in the Conference Championship Game. I like the Georgia D to shut down an Auburn offense that has struggled at times this season.
