Magic vs. Raptors Series Preview
The Toronto Raptors are heavily favored to get past the Orlando Magic in the first round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs. The Raptors are the No. 2 seed in the East, while the Magic are the No. 7 seed. Not many people are giving Orlando any chance to win this series, but it should be noted that the Magic were one of just eight teams to win in Toronto this season. Let’s look at the series and NBA picks.

Regular Season Series 2-2
The Magic actually held their own against the Raptors this season, splitting the four games. As noted earlier, the Raptors did win at Scotiabank Arena this season, but the Raptors did not have Kawhi Leonard in that contest. The other win by Orlando came when the Raptors were without Kyle Lowry. There is no question the Magic are going to have a difficult time winning when the Raptors have both Leonard and Lowry in the lineup. Leonard averaged 27.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per game in the playoffs a year ago and he led the Raptors in scoring this season, averaging nearly 27 points per game.
Player to Watch
If the Magic are going to steal a game in this series then they will have to get excellent play from Nikola Vucevic. He averaged 20 points per game against the Raptors this season to go along with 15.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists. The Magic are capable of winning at least one game in this series if Vucevic gets hot.
The Magic are 4-1-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings in this series. Orlando comes in playing well, as they are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Magic are 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 vs. the Atlantic. The Raptors are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Raptors are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 vs. the Southeast.
Looking at the total, the Over is 7-0 in Orlando’s last 7 overall. The Over is 5-0 in Orlando’s last 5 road games. The Over is 4-1-1 in the Raptors last 6 home games. The Over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Toronto.
Magic vs. Raptors Free Picks
The Magic finished the season playing really well, winning 8 of their last 10, including their last four. Orlando isn’t going to win this series, but unlike the matchup between the Bucks and Pistons, the Magic are capable of winning at least a game against the Raptors. What we do know is that there is going to be value on taking the Magic plus the points in this series.
The odds for Game 1 have the Raptors listed as almost double-digit favorites, as Toronto is laying -9 points in Game 1. The Raptors were not that good at home this season against the number, going 18-23. Orlando went 22-19 ATS on the road, so they are capable of covering the spread in this series. Not many people are going to want to lay the big series price on the Raptors, as the price is going to be more than -1000 and there won’t be that many people who think the Magic can pull off the upset, so the series price may not get a ton of action.
The best option may be to take Orlando plus the points in the individual games of this series at BetDSI and hope the games are close.
