NFL Football - Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants Props

The NFC East had high expectations to begin the season but so far it has been one of the worst divisions in football. There is plenty of time to turn that around and the team expected to ascend to the top of the group is the Philadelphia Eagles. They are only 2-3 on the year but have a lot of talent. The Eagles will look to pick it up this week in a matchup against division foe the New York Giants.

The game will be played on “Thursday Night Football” which is an extremely quick turnaround. There are the standard pregame bets available for this matchup but there are also a ton of prop bets. The oddsmakers favor the Eagles slightly on the road and believe this will be a low-scoring battle. For anyone who likes the Giants or more points than expected, the prop bets can turn into lucrative propositions if they work out.

Let’s take a look at some of the prop bet options for this Week 6 matchup as the Eagles and Giants prepare to face off in NFL betting.

This NFL football game between the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants will be held at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey at 8:10 p.m ET on Thursday, October 11th, 2018. The game will be nationally televised on FOX and NFL Network.

We'll have NFL football odds at available for every game of the 2018 NFL season.

Odds Analysis

The Eagles are currently listed as the 3-point favorites. The Giants are not huge underdogs because they have the home field advantage which helps even things out. New York is the +130 underdog on the moneyline while the Eagles are listed as the -150 favorite. The scoring total is listed at 44.5 points as neither offense is hitting on all cylinders right now. That total has moved up by a point in recent days.

The Eagles are listed as the -130 favorites to score first, while the Giants check in at +100. This could come down to who receives first, as only a field goal would be needed to capture this wager. The better odds of New York is enticing.

There is a prop bet that asks if there will be a score within the first 6½ minutes of the contest. The “yes” option is listed at even odds while “no” comes in as the slight favorite at -130.

Philadelphia’s total points is listed at 23.5 for this contest, with -115 odds on both the “over” and the “under.” The Eagles’ offense was explosive a year ago but has yet to get untracked in 2018. Quarterback Carson Wentz is returning from a torn ACL and has yet to excel, while running back Jay Ajayi was recently lost for the year due to a torn ACL himself.

The Giants’ total is set at 20.5 points. New York has a pair of elite skill players in wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. and running back Saquon Barkley, but quarterback Eli Manning has been inconsistent. The Giants did score over 30 points last time out but are facing a tough defense.

Barkley is listed as the favorite to score the first touchdown of the game at +600, followed by Eagles tight end Zach Ertz at +700 and Beckham, Jr. at +750. Philadelphia running back Corey Clement is coming in at +1000 and he seems to have pretty low odds considering he is the new No. 1 running back following Ajayi’s injury.

It’s hard to accurately peg which player will score the first touchdown, especially not knowing which team it will come from in a tight game. While Barkley and Beckham are easy choices for the Giants, the belief here is that the Eagles will score first. Philadelphia has multiple receiving options to choose from, but if they get close Clement could be the guy. The +1000 odds look good, as this is the best prop bet of the week in NFL gambling.
